Reflection

My main goal is to join a group my cousin has set up. He and a group of musicians known as the ‘Dirty Robotz’ have recently created a media group. I have been asked to join the group as well as a couple other graphic designers. I was recently asked to design a T-Shirt for them. Personally, I believe I need to gain more knowledge and experience in graphic design in order for this to happen. I found Graphic Design by chance and this is something I want to pursue. To succeed on this course, there are certain things I need to do in relation to my study and practical skills that need to develop.

Study Skills

1. I really struggle organizing and planning my essays.
2. I can’t Harvard reference correctly.
3. I’m relying far too much on the internet despite having a great library.
4. I find it hard to take notes.
5. I don’t understand some of the words I read in theoretical texts.
6. I leave my written work until the last minute.

Practical Skills

1. I need to become more creative in my thoughts and ideas. Maybe looking at more designers and gaining a better understanding can help.
2. I want to have a quicker thought process.
3. My work needs to become more complex. I believe I have a basic style. Maybe looking through tutorials can help me learn more artistic techniques on Photoshop.
4. My drawing skills could be better
5. I never leave enough time to work on the presentation of my work
